Air Aces of the 1914-1918 War - Bruce Robertson

This is a fairly comprehensive book containing the stories of numerous First World War fighter aces who served in the Royal Flying Corps (RFC), Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS), Royal Air Force (RAF - formed by the amalgamation of the RFC and RNAS on April 1, 1918), the Imperial German Air Service, the Imperial German Navy, the Italian Air Force and Navy, the Imperial Russian Air Service and Navy, the Austro-Hungarian Air Force and Navy, the Belgian Air Force, the French Aviation Militaire, and the United States Army Air Service and Navy.

In sum, there are 135 individual biographies in this book, and more than 1,500 airmen are mentioned by name. I read this book as a teen and it, in so many ways, broadened my interest in First World War aviation.
