This is the story of a most remarkable man, Jack Probert. An Australian who went to Britain and became a soldier in a rifle brigade. Shortly after the outbreak of war in 1914, Probert's unit is sent to France, where he became a prisoner of war. Probert goes on to have some interesting wartime experiences, which I won't go into here.
Fast forward to Singapore 1942, where Mr. Probert again finds himself a prisoner of war, this time of the Japanese. If this review piques your curiosity about this book, BUY IT to see for yourself how Mr. Probert fared.
