Spitfire Aces of Northwest Europe - Andrew Thomas, Chris Thomas

This book shows to fine effect all the hallmarks that has made the Osprey series "Aircraft of the Aces" a quality product. It is concise yet authoritative and rich with photos (and artwork) of the various variants of the Spitfire fighter that were flown in combat over Northwest Europe in 1944 and 1945. I also enjoyed reading the short histories that were provided of the various Royal Air Force (RAF) fighter units --- in particular, those in 2nd TAF (Tactical Air Force)--- and the personal accounts of the aces (British, Canadian, Belgian, Czech, French, Polish, Dutch, Norwegian, and a few Americans) who distinguished themselves from Normandy to the Rhine and beyond.
